The Feline Friends of Destin/Adoption Center encourages the participation of volunteers who support the following mission: “to provide a safe, healthy environment for all animals brought to Feline Friends of Destin Inc; to care for all animals in a humane manner and to provide the necessary services to the Feline Friends of Destin City of Destin TNR Trap Neuter Return, Rescue and Adoption Services.” www.felinefriendsofdestin.com

All potential volunteers must receive an interview prior to placement. In order to provide as safe a work environment as possible, we also require a criminal background check which will be completed at the time of your interview. All volunteers participate in our training program as part of their work experience. If you agree with our mission and are willing to be interviewed and trained, we encourage you to complete this application. The information on this form will help us to find the most satisfying and appropriate job for you. VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT
Terms and Conditions:

My services to Feline Friends of Destin Inc are provided strictly in a voluntary capacity as a volunteer, and without any Express or implied promise of salary, compensation or other payment of any kind whatsoever.

My services are furnished without any employment-type benefits, including employment insurance programs, worker’s compensation accrual in any form, vacations or sick time.

I will familiarize myself and comply with Feline Friends of Destin Inc’s policies and procedures applicable to volunteers. In particular, I fully understand that Feline Friends of Destin Inc expects high standards of moral and ethical treatment of the animals under its care. I will adhere strictly to these standards in my capacity as a volunteer. I will follow the policies, procedures, and safety precautions of Feline Friends of Destin Inc, and follow the instructions/directions of the staff of Feline Friends of Destin Inc. I understand that Feline Friends of Destin Inc, without notice or hearing, may terminate my services as a volunteer at any time, with or without reason.

I understand the potential safety risks of working with animals and of bringing home illnesses from the adoption center to personal pets. I will practice reasonable health hygiene and adhere to the hygiene policies of Feline Friends of Destin Inc.I am covered by a health insurance plan, and I am current on my tetanus vaccination.
I will not bring unapproved guests or family to Feline Friends of Destin Inc while I am on duty.

Release:

I understand that the handling of animals and other volunteer activities on behalf of Feline Friends of Destin Inc may place me in a hazardous situation and could result in injury to me or my personal property. On behalf of myself, and my heirs, personal representatives and assigns, I hereby release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless Feline Friends of Destin Inc and its directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all claim, causes of actions and demands of any nature, whether known or unknown, arising out of or in connection with my volunteer activities on behalf of Feline Friends of Destin Inc. Understanding that public relations are an important part of a volunteer’s activities on behalf of Feline Friends of Destin Inc, I hereby authorize Feline Friends of Destin Inc to use any photographs of me in its possession for public relations purposes .I ask that Feline Friends of Destin Inc use reasonable efforts to give me advance notice of any such use, but such notification is not a condition to release photographs for public relations purposes.

If you are under 18, we must have your parent or legal guardian’s sign a form prior to volunteering and you must be accompanied by your parent or guardian who must be signed up as a volunteer when helping in the adoption center .

Volunteer Agreement and Release of Liability
 
                                                My signature below indicates that I have read, understand and agree to the following:
 
1.     I agree to be a volunteer for Feline Friends of Destin I further agree to provide 48 hour notice to the volunteer coordinator in the event that I can no longer serve as a volunteer.
 
2.     I will abide by the following Feline Friends of Destin Inc.Volunteer  cat adoption policy and procedure:
 
  • Cats and Kittens will be separately attended to from other organization cats and kittens. 
  •  Volunteers will exercise care and supervision of the cats under their control whenever people, in particular children, and customers are in proximity to the cats or kittens being cared for or exercised. 
  •  Volunteers will immediately inform FFOD of any behavioral problem observed or serious incident that arises  while the cat or kitten is under their care.
 
3.         I understand that the Feline Friends of  Destin Inc. logo is the sole property of Feline Friends of  Destin, and any use of such name, whether in written or promotional form, must be approved by the Officers, Directors or designees of Feline Friends of Destin. I therefore agree not to engage in any activity using the Feline Friends of Destin Inc..logo or trade-name without prior approval.
 
4.     I understand and agree that the Feline Friends of Destin Inc. website, internal files and records, including names and addresses of volunteers, donors, applicants, membership lists and similar data are the sole property of Feline Friends of Destin and that unauthorized disclosure of such information, its appropriation, changes or alterations to it may constitute a criminal offense.
 
5.         I understand and agree that the behavior of cats and kittens is unpredictable and that some are capable of inflicting serious personal injury as well as property damage. I acknowledge that while Feline Friends of Destin Inc. will take every reasonable precaution to minimize the potential of danger posed by the animals under its care, it is never possible to guarantee ther all circumstances. I therefore agree that if I choose to participate in Trap Neuter Return, TNR, handle, foster or care for any Feline Friends of Destin Inc. cat or kitten I will do so at my own risk.
 
6.         I understand and agree that if I fail to comply with the terms of this agreement or am otherwise unable to meet the Volunteer Program requirements, I will be terminated from the Program. I further understand that I may at any time with or without cause be removed from my position as volunteer at the sole discretion of  Feline Friends of Destin..
 
7.         I hereby agree and release, indemnify and hold harmless Feline Friends of Destin Inc, its Officers, Directors and Agents from any and all claims, damages and liability arising from or related to my activities as a Feline Friends of Destin Inc. volunteer; I further agree to release, hold harmless, and indemnify Feline Friends of Destin Inc its Officers, Directors and Agents from any and all claims, damages and liability arising from my riding as a passenger in any motor vehicle owned or leased by Feline Friends of Destin Inc, its Officers, Directors and Agents and operated by any of them.
 
I REPRESENT THAT I AM OVER EIGHTEEN YEARS OF AGE AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE READ THIS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY AND I FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENTS AND IMPLICATIONS. I AM AWARE THAT THIS IS A WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT, AND THAT IT IS BINDING AND ENFORCEABLE BY LAW.
